Trauma of abortion restrictions and forced pregnancy

“The article “Trauma of abortion restrictions and forced pregnancy: urgent considerations for healthcare providers” examines the harmful effects of restrictive abortion laws that emerged after the Supreme Court’s Dobbs decision. These laws significantly elevate health risks by leading to more self-managed abortions and forced pregnancies. This has been found to disproportionally impact marginalized communities, including people of color, low-income individuals, and LGBTQ+ groups. The article underscores the need for accessible abortion care in maintaining individual health and well-being and urges healthcare providers to address the trauma experienced by those affected by these restrictive policies.” – Jairan Koochekpoorian, University of Buckingham

Oestrogen mono-therapy beyond 65 years

“New research suggests that the use of oestrogen mono-therapy beyond 65 years of age in women is associated with a decreased risk of mortality in many conditions including breast cancer, lung cancer, congestive heart failure and atrial fibrillation. The use of oestrogen and progesterone combined is associated with increased risk of breast cancer, however using low dose of progesterone via transdermal or vaginal routes alleviates the risk. Progesterone displays decreases risk of endometrial cancer, ovarian cancer and ischemic heart disease.” – Jean Grace, Anglia Ruskin University
